Animal magic in Fellows jewellery sale

Birmingham auction house Fellows’ October antique and modern jewellery sale features many pieces of beautiful animal jewellery.

Multiple magnificent brooches, including a late Victorian pearl and diamond spider brooch, an early 20th century diamond kangaroo brooch and a 1970s 9ct gold squirrel brooch, by Alabaster & Wilson all feature in the auction.

Furthermore, there is a mid-Victorian gold, enamel and gem-set snake necklace, and a pair of diamond and ruby elephant earrings in the sale, which are sure to be popular amongst bidders.

A beautiful floral necklace features in the sale, designed as a graduated series of brilliant-cut diamond flowers. The precious item is estimated at £12,000-£18,000. There is a collection of alluring rings in the sale, including a Ceylon sapphire and diamond dress ring which is estimated at £12,000-£18,000. There are also two impeccable diamond single-stone rings, one weighing 1.50cts and the other weighing 4.77cts, which are estimated at £10,000-£15,000 and £18,000-£25,000 respectively.

There are many designer pieces to tempt every pocket, ranging from Cartier, Tiffany and Fabergé to more unusual designer pieces such as a show-stopping Lalaounis necklace. To top it off, there are a number of certified gemstone pieces to add a pop of colour to your autumn collection.

An early 20th century diamond kangaroo brooch. Designed as a pave-set diamond kangaroo, in mid-bound, with red gem eye. Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct. Length 3.9cms. Weight 6.9gms

Gold love bangle

A Cartier 18ct gold diamond ‘Love’ bangle. The pave-set diamond hinged band, with brilliant-cut diamond collet spaced highlights. Signed and numbered Cartier, XV 5966. Total diamond weight 3.16cts. Italian marks. Inner diameter 5.5cms. Weight 39.3gms. With maker’s case and certificate.

Diamond and gold necklace

A Chopard ‘Happy Diamonds’ necklace. Designed as five free-moving brilliant-cut diamonds, within a pave-set diamond and glazed heart, to the integral brick-link chain. Signed and numbered Chopard, 81/5427-20 9661737. Total diamond weight 2.79cts. Length 20cms. Weight 131.9gms. With maker’s case and papers.

Tiffany & Co diamond ring

A Tiffany & Co ‘Lucida-cut’ diamond single-stone ring. The Lucida-cut diamond, weighing 1.01cts, with slightly tapered shoulders. Signed and numbered Tiffany & Co., D64725. With report 11382124, dated 18th December 2000, from the GIA, stating G colour, VVS1 clarity. Ring size I1/2. Weight 5gms. With maker’s case.
