The huge collection was built up over several years by John Parker of Chertsey, who lives in a semi-detached house on a quiet road in the town. It comprises professional drum kits, amps, violins, keyboards, alongside the immense guitar collection, and has been valued at between £10,000 and £15,000 in total by the team at Ewbank’s.

Alastair McCrea, partner at Ewbank’s, explained that Mr Parker’s house was so full that it was very difficult to get around for fear of damaging an instrument. The vendor is keen to sell the instruments, so all items in this collection are, unusually, being sold without reserve prices.
One of the most interesting guitars within the collection is expected to be an Epiphone Gibson Les Paul electric guitar which comes in a hard case, and carries a pre-sale estimate of between £200 and £400.
Other guitars of note include an Acepro double neck electric guitar, with stand, which has been valued at between £150 and £250; and a Gretsch G3100 acoustic guitar with case which has a pre-sale guide price of £80 and £120.

The instrument collection forms part of Ewbank’s larger “Entertainment, Memorabilia and Vintage Poster” sale on March 2nd.
