New arts and culture partnership for North East and Yorkshire

The Bowes Museum and Tennants Auctioneers are delighted to announce their collaboration to promote culture and the arts in the North East and Yorkshire.

The partnership will be launched this summer when The Bowes Museum will curate a loan exhibition of treasures from its internationally renowned collection of fine and decorative arts at Tennants in Leyburn.

The idea is to incorporate some of the Museum founders’ furniture from their Paris homes, as well as displaying some of their purchases for the Museum, to illustrate their lives in Paris and their taste and interests.

The exhibition will be on view in Tennants new exhibition and event venue, The Garden Rooms. Running from 4th July – 31st August 2015, it will be complemented by a series of lectures at Tennants, given by curators from The Bowes Museum on the fascinating history and collections. In addition there will be a private tour led by a curator.
