New auction house for Lincolnshire

The Stamford Auction Rooms is a brand new auction house being opened by Jesscia Wall in Little Bytham in Lincolnshire.

JessicaJessica is the only female, auctioneer, valuer and auction house owner in the area, who began her career as an apprentice furniture and fine art restorer. “It provided me with an inner knowledge of furniture and works of art – a skill not all auctioneers have,” she said.

She has also worked at Bonhams in London, Wilkinsons Auctioneers in Yorkshire and as a valuer at Batemans Auctioneers in Lincolnshire.

Now she is relishing the challenge of launching her new venture at the Stamford Auction Rooms.  “People often ask me what the best part of the job is, and naturally, seeing so may interesting things coming through the doors makes it extremely interesting, particularly when you come across items that the owners know little about. Being able to bring things to light and provide valuations is a wonderful part of the job as well as meeting so many people, each with different stories to tell, and family history to be uncovered.”

The auction house has its first sale on 30th January.
