Novel bar for high-fliers at LAPADA

Mr Fogg’s, the Around the World in 80 Days-inspired bar, returns to the LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair, Berkeley Square next month.

Modeled after the Victorian period drawing room of much-loved fictional explorer, Phileas Fogg from Jules Verne’s 1873 novel, Mr Fogg’s bar captures the character’s adventurous spirit in the nostalgic recreation.

Each piece will go through the LAPADA Fair’s rigorous vetting process ensuring quality and authenticity and will be available for sale.

The specially selected works include a fine shipyard model of an early sailing steam screw ship, Battle of Camperdown’by Charles Dixon and a pair of mid Victorian walnut low club chairs. Luxury wallpaper specialists, de Gournay, will be adding a special touch, decorating the pop-up bar with its exquisite hand-painted designs.

Dynamic hospitality entrepreneurs, Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, Founders of Inception Group, will oversee the curation of the space ensuring it reflects the refined, yet quirky, character of their original bar.

In September 2015, they opened Mr Fogg’s Tavern and Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour on St Martin’s Lane, the first spin off by Inception Group of the Fogg’s brand. Set over two floors, it has an ‘upstairs downstairs’ theatrical theme with a Victorian pub on the ground floor and a refined Gin Parlour upstairs that is home to one of London’s largest gin collections.
