Room with a view at Decorative Fair

The Morning Room Revisited- Spring 2017 Decorative Antiques & Textiles FairThe Morning Room will be placed centre stage at the Spring 2017 Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair in April. Each Fair has a theme in the foyer of the marquee at Battersea Park and this time around it will focus on the rising trend for a new area in the home that combines our love of bringing the outdoors inside with a tranquil space, reclaimed for grown-ups away from the hubbub of open-plan living, and designed as an escape from daily chores.

Traditionally called The Morning Room, the display will be created as an extension of a contemporary kitchen/living room. It will show items selected from exhibitors, all for sale, including beautiful ideas for displaying a collection of decorative ceramics or glass; garden urns for growing herbs and favourite plants year-round; a florist’s table, and a seating sanctuary to view the garden or outside vistas.

The Morning Room Revisited will present a fresh space that makes the most of the countryside, or brings it in to a city room, and which can be as generous or bijou in scale as a property dictates.

The organisers of the event say it displays a huge range of antiques and 20th century design for interior decoration, and is a destination event for international decorators and style-conscious private buyers.  The Winter Fair in January saw the likes of Rose Uniacke, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Nicky Haslam, Flora Soames, Olga Polizzi, John Minshaw and Nina Campbell among the many decorators shopping for current projects.

Other well-known faces seen in attendance at the Winter event included David Beckham, Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch, Fiona Fullerton and Guy Ritchie.

The Spring 2017 Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair, from April 4th to 9th will feature more than 150 exhibitors from the UK and Europe, and returns to the marquee in Battersea Park earlier in the month than usual.

Visitors to the event will find everything from fine and formal antiques, decorative period furniture and unusual accessories, to 20th century designer pieces, traditional, modern and contemporary art and sculpture.
