Tennants to sell silver dealer’s collection

 

Collection of silver at TennantsTennants are to offer the collection of English, Scottish, Provincial and Colonial silver belonging to the former antique silver dealer Barry Brook, formerly of Austwick, North Yorkshire.

The 200 lot specialist sale features the entire stock of the dealer who was a regular at many antiques fairs including the Harrogate Antiques Fair.

Tennants said the sale includes silver to please both academics and investors, such as the collection of rare reference books and silver with obscure hallmarks from towns such as Geenock, Elgin, Inverness, The Cape of Good Hope and even Calcutta that will appeal to academics. Those who principally buy for the pleasure of owning beautiful objects will find a wide range of vertu to choose from, including nutmeg graters, vinaigrettes, snuff boxes, scent bottles and candlesticks.

The sale starts at noon on the 25th September, viewing is on Thursday 24th.
